Proof There is no ONE Diet for Everyone + The Real Purpose of Life

There is an abundance of health information out there getting thrown at us everyday from every direction.

The great news is, more than any other time in history people are getting interested in health and want to think, look, and feel their best every single day. The bad news is that we are over saturated, and it is taking away from the real purpose of life.

Not only is all of this information creating fear around food, it is also stealing our ability to listen and recognize what our body already knows: what diet and lifestyle works best for your unique body.

All of this information also is giving people a bad case of the ‘shoulds’. “I should do a whole30, I should eat high fat, low-fat, high carb, low carb, paleo, vegan. . . etc.  which are all accompanied by research and doctors promoting the benefits to each one.

Often times the striving and overwhelm causes worse problems than when you started. I know I fell into that trap. First eating vegan/vegetarian because I thought that was the healthiest way to go. . . until my mood, skin, and hormones did not agree. Then eating a low carb diet because sugar and carbs are the enemy. . .until my menstrual cycle did not agree. I knew that it was time to stop listening to what others say I should eat, and I started listening to what my body already knew.

What is a person to do?

There is No One Like You: Bio-individuality

There is no one just like you out there. No one has walked your path, has your purpose, has your genes, has your heritage, has been exposed to the exact environments, or is in the same state that you are in now based on your thoughts, emotions, eating habits, exercise, and daily actions.

ALL of these play a role in how you react to food. Your genes are constantly changing based on your thoughts, emotions, eating habits, daily work, exercise, and environment.

An amazing study, one of the first of its kind, demonstrates the red false flag on nutrition. Published in Cell, an Israeli group of researchers followed 800 people with a prescribed diet for one week, assessing biological parameters from blood sugar to their microbiota.

What they uncovered was a clear signal of truth: the same foods affect different people differently! 

Do not compare your diet to someone else. The food you eat impacts you  differently than someone else- truly. Experiment with food that makes you feel your best- some do better with more animal products, some do not. Some thrive on a higher fat diet, some thrive on a higher(complex) carb diet, some on a low carb. It took some experimentation, but I now know what my body thrives on and how much of certain macro and micro nutrients I feel best on. . . but I also know that may change in time.

You yourself may need a different diet for different seasons in your life!

Get to Know YOUR Body

It is time to get in touch with your body- paying attention to what it likes, what it doesn’t like. What makes you feel good, what does not make you feel good. What boosts your energy, what destroys your energy. What makes you think clearly, what makes you easily distracted.

If somethings isn’t working- try something new! If you are feeling low energy, having digestive issues, hormonal issues, skin problems, mood swings etc, then you need to do some investigation work.

Do not become overwhelmed, look at it as being your own detective. The real purpose of life is to realize it is a journey, not something that happens overnight. Just begin to become more aware. If you are having an issue, look what you have been eating and doing lately and see if something may be the culprit. Eliminate it for 3 weeks. This could be food or some aspect aspect of your life.

That’s it, make ONE change for three weeks and pay attention to differences. Then try something else.

You want to think, feel, and look your best every day, pay attention to your diet and lifestyle and how they correlate to these areas:

Changes to Try

We are all in different seasons in our life. Sometimes our season requires us to kick it up nutritionally or in some area in our lifestyle in order to change. It takes PRAYER and LISTENING to your symptoms to figure out what they are telling you and what you are needing to do.

Here are a few examples of changes to try:

  • Eliminate all processed foods
  • Drink 1/2 your weight in body ounces a day
  • Move your body every day
  • Eliminating gluten, dairy, sugar, soy, corn
  • Try a higher fat diet
  • Try cutting out all refined carbohydrates and just eat complex carbohydrates as a small part of your meals. Try not having a meal just full of carbohydrates (main cause of energy drain) This means eating squashes, sweet potatoes, plantains, quinoa, etc. instead of eating pasta, cereal, breads, etc.
  • Experiment with the ratio of fat, carb, and protein you eat, this can also dramatically impact how you feel. Here are a few articles that may help you determine what is best for you:
  • Stop saying ‘Yes’ to everything
  • Stop checking Social media every 3 seconds
  • Get 8 hours of sleep each night
  • Move your body every day.

The Real Purpose of Life

Your eating style, your form of exercise, your daily life is going to look completely different from someone else, which is a good thing. God created you to do what NO ONE else in the world can do, so your world will look like no one else.

Now of course we all need to be eating healthy, I am not saying ‘listen to your body’ gives you free range to eat whatever you want if you desire to feel, think, and look your best for the rest of your life. When you decide to do a program or begin a healthy lifestyle- find your WHY that is connected to the bigger story.

  • To take care of the temple God gave me
  • To stay healthy and fit for my family
  • To think and feel my best every day so I can accomplish my purpose in the world to the best of my ability
  • To avoid or cure disease and any other imbalance I am dealing with

We know that these areas in life are more important than the food we eat:

  1. The thoughts you think every day
  2. How much love you give and receive each day
  3. Your purpose here on earth and how you are apart of the bigger story
  4. Your connection with the creator and the plan he has for you
  5. How much pleasure you have each day
  6. How much you enjoy the food and drinks you are consuming – especially how you enjoy them with others
  7. Holding on to bitterness, envy, unforgivness- all destroy your body more than any food you could ever eat.

  1. Eat whole organic foods: Avoid packaged, boxed, processed, and fast foods.
  2. Avoid vegetable oils and GMOs
  3. Drink clean filtered water
  4. Move your body
  5. Eat greens and veggies daily

    This is BRILLIANT! There’s a book out there called “Eating Right for Your Blood Type”, and the Doctor that wrote it hits on a lot of similar points. But it’s true! I can eat bread and carbs just fine, but my husband bloats – he started noticing that and it turns out it was a gluten intolerance. He loses weight by cutting carbs, I lose weight by cutting meat. I always recommend to people to check out how they FEEL after eating – you are supposed to feel energized, not on the verge of a comma! Digestive upset is a sign that food isn’t the best for you. If we slow down and listen to our bodies, they tell us what works for optimum health (and faster metabolism, and more energy, and stronger immune systems) and what slows our body down. I’m sharing!
