5 Minute Grain Free Apple Pie Filling
Time for some Grain Free Apple Pie!
Even though it is spring time, this apple pie filling is such a delicious dessert that not only warms your soul but also makes your house smell like a heavenly scented candle that you just want to eat, or something like that.
Warm apple pie is such a comfort. This makes it easy to enjoy my pie craving in just a couple minutes, minus the gluten, dairy, refined sugar, and all the effort it takes to make a whole pie. This makes the perfect dessert for just you OR double for a crowd.
Grain Free Apple Pie
This recipe also works well in the crock pot if you are wanting your home to smell like Christmas morning! Simple use 7 apples, 3 tablespoons raw honey, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons coconut oil or butter, and 1 1/2 tablespoon almond butter, and a handful of walnuts. Combine in crackpot and cook for 2 1/2 hours.
Add the amount of cinnamon you wish! I dump it on there because cinnamon is a superfood, and it is cheap way to get a heavy dose of nutrition in, always my goal: healthy, but cheap.
Cooking Instructions
1. Cut apples into slices. Melt butter or coconut oil in pan and throw the apple slices in. Sate on medium to low heat for a couple minutes until soft.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix to combine. Heat until the apples are as soft as you like and ingredients are fully mixed together.
Instead of “throwing” the apple slices in, why not just add them to the pan. Throwing them could splatter the oil.
