How to Balance Hormones

Wondering How to Balance Hormones?

Whether we like it or not, our hormones control everything in our body. Our weight, digestion, mood, focus, energy, hair/skin/nails, sleep, and libido.

Your body needs certain nutrients to produce hormones correctly and stay in balance. If we do not eat foods that have these nutrients, our body cannot produce hormones correctly or maintain hormonal balance simply because it does not have the building blocks to do so. Whatever you are eating is either helping hormonal production, or causing unpredictable imbalances.

At the most basic level, we need to make sure we are detoxifying daily and eating nourishing foods daily to ensure the body stays in balance despite everything that is going on around us.

How to Balance Hormones: Balance Your Blood Sugar

Consuming sugar, high carbohydrate meals, and caffeine sends our bodies and hormones on a roller coaster and causes major imbalances. The body needs certain building blocks to make hormones and brain chemicals. If you do not consistently give your body these building blocks and manage your blood sugar, then they will not be made, or at least not be made in balance.

Make eating three balanced meals a day a priority.

Build your meals based off of clean protein, healthy fat, vegetables, and slow burning carbohydrates. This provides your body with all of the building blocks it needs to create healthy hormones. Plus, it balances blood sugar and cortisol levels so your body makes calming and sex hormones verses stress hormones.

Support Your Detoxification Pathways

Between the toxic food, water, and personal care products we consume daily, our liver needs some serious help. Your liver circulates hormones but if it is overloaded with everything else, your hormones will take the it for it. Signs of hormonal imbalances are a sign of a toxic burden. The more detoxification you can do, the better your body will run. Eating organic food, filtered water, natural personal care products will do wonders. Also dry brushing, oil pulling, saunas, taking milk thistle, and eating dandelion greens also help the liver detoxify faster. Going on a cleanse can also give your body a wonderful reset.

Clean Up Your Environment and Stress

Most personal care and cleaning products cause major toxicity and imbalance in the body. Certain ingredients found in most products are also known endocrine disruptors- meaning they directly interfere with hormonal balance. Choose natural products when you can to save your body from the toxic burden.
We all know stress effects the body. You can be do every right, and if you are still stressed out about something- the body will still not come into balance. Daily stress relieving techniques and mind work may perhaps the most important thing you can do for your hormones.
