Is Over the Counter Medication Making you Sick?

flu season aheadHere we go, cold and flu season is now upon us. This usually is accompanied by flooding our bodies with flu shots and over the counter medicines to treat the unwelcome illness.  Thought. . . Have you ever actually read everything that is in a vaccine before that needle gets stuck in your body? Have you seen what other toxic chemical ingredients are hidden in the oh-so-innocent over the counter treatments? They may be attacking your body more than you ever imagined.

Over the Counter Medication

Most over the counter drugs are laced with artificial dyes, chemical preservatives, and GMOs. The ‘inactive ingredients’ are so toxic to our bodies, and are manifesting in symptoms no one is relating to the drug. Vani Hari did an excellent article on how over the counter medication may be making you sick. Check out a few of the examples she provided.

Each of these ‘inactive ingredients’ is destructive in its own way- but just for a quick example:

  • Propylene glycol is used as an active ingredient in engine coolants and antifreeze.
  • High doses of high fructose corn syrup have been proven to literally punch holes in the intestinal lining, allowing nasty byproducts of toxic gut bacteria and partially digested food proteins to enter your blood stream.
  • Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated that artificial dyes (FD&C Red #40, FD&C Blue 1, ect.) can cause and trigger hyperactivity and ADHD children. Not to mention the artificial sweeteners that are neurotoxic  and cause damage to brain cells.

If you want to be scared- research these other ‘inactive ingredients’ and see what your body has to deal with when these drugs enter into your system.

Help your Body Heal Fast

Despite the toxic ingredients that come along with over the counter medication, they also only cover the symptoms- they do not treat the root cause. Here are a few thoughts that go against modern treatment practices.

cold-runny-nose1. Your symptoms are a good thing! Yes, the running snot and throwing up is actually  your body pushing the illness out in any way it can. Instead of trying to stop your body from detoxifying, why not help it and get the sickness out faster, which in turn will alleviate the symptoms. Quite brilliant honestly.

prescription-drug2. When your body is being overloaded with these chemicals that are laced in over the counter drugs, it has to put energy toward processing the foreign substances which leaves very little energy left to fight the virus or infection and heal.

green-tea3. Our bodies have an incredible ability to heal and fight any disease or virus that it comes in contact with. All we need to do is support the body’s process of doing what it was natural created to do, and not hinder it with all of this man-made-toxic-garbage. It is not helping, just hurting.

garlic-and-ginger4. When sickness comes along, just allow the body to put all its energy towards healing and fighting the illness. This means sleep, accompanied by natural medicine that will help the body do what it is natural capable of, and fight any infection FAST. This anti-plague tonic is like a natural flu shot, and will stop any cold or infection in its tracks.

Before being injected with the flu shot, or reaching for a bottle of NyQuil, think about the incredible healing power of your body, and its ability to fight off any illness, when given what it needs to thrive. And that is not mercury, aluminum, or formaldehyde that are often found in vaccines OR FD&C 40, propylene glycol, and dimethylpolysiloxane that are found in overt the counter drugs.
