Zero Carb Pasta! Paleo Pasta Alternatives

Zero Carb Pasta! Paleo Pasta Alternatives

When transitioning to a nutrient dense, anti-inflammatory diet, most of my clients have the hardest time giving up pasta and bread. Fortunately, there are great paleo past alternatives so swap out traditional pasta that spikes your blood sugar, which then spikes your insulin and cortisol, which causes hormones imbalances and fat storage.

These noodle replacements are an amazing way to bulk up your meals without the carbs or grains.

Veggie Noodles:

There are oh so many options when it comes to veggie noodles. Do yourself a favor and buy this hand veggie noodle maker right now. If you are really serious, get this veggie noodle machine. Veggie noodles are THE PERFECT way to make most of your meal veggies. You can make zucchini, carrot, beet, or anything else you manage to run through this tool.  Simply make the noodles, toss with a sauce of your choice, add a protein, maybe a handful of greens and voila! You have one heck of a nutrient rich meal.

Kelp Noodles:

Kelp is a kind of seaweed, or algae, that grows in the ocean. Y’all know I am a huge fan of algae and greens powders and I use them as my ‘multivitamin’. (this is my favorite spirulina ) They don’t have a super strong taste and can blend well with however you flavor it. Not to mention they are full of amazing minerals and amino acids. I like to eat these raw mixed with some fish, greens, and dressing.

Miracle Noodles (Shirataki Noodles):

A staple in our house!

These low-calorie, gluten-free noodles with zero net carbs are made out of water-soluble fiber made from the Konjac plant.

The pre-biotic properties of the konjac plant (what shirataki noodles are made of) are vital when it comes to gut health, inner balance, and well-being.

Miracle noodles really bulk up your meal, but without heavy carbs or calories so it keeps you feeling light and happy!

These noodles come in all different kinds and textures (angel, fettuccini, rice, etc).

Pro Tip: These noodles DO NOT smell the best when you first open them, but it does go away pretty fast. Simply rinse them for a minute, boil them for 2 minutes, and then sauteed them in a frying pan.

The next time you are making a pasta meal, try swapping out the noodles for one of these options!

These are the miracle noodles I love.
