It seems that GMOs are one of those hot topics these days. You have people actively fighting against them, you have large corporations enforcing them, and then there are those that truly care less about the topic. In any situation, the fact is that GMOs are literally everywhere. According to The Center for Food Safety, 88% of U.S. corn, 94% of soybeans, 88 percent of cotton, 90% of canola and 95% of sugar beets are genetically engineered. These foods are just loading the shelves of supermarkets and restaurants everywhere. Now, a majority of the fruits and vegetables that are in our stores are genetically modified along with most anything that is in a bag, box, or can. The worst part is that the United States does not require genetically modified foods to be labeled, so between buying non organic food, and eating out, we are consuming more GMOs than we think.
What are They?
A genetically modified organism (GMO) is a plant or animal which has had its DNA altered though genetic engineering. Most often, genes are inserted from other organisms to “improve” the GMO: make it grow faster or bigger, produce its own pesticides or become more resistant to drought. By chemically altering and processing these foods, their new genetic make up becomes a toxin to our bodies that has been linked to infertility, digestive disorders, and neurological damage.
Should I be Concerned about GMOs?
While there are a COUNTLESS amount of studies done proving the dangers of GMOs- here is a very short, basic list of warnings:

2. Gastrointestinal and immune system disorders
3. Liver and kidney abnormalities

It is not a coincidence that these are also the exact symptoms now being seen in humans more than ever before in history.
2.Genetically Modified Organisms are causing inflammation in our bodies leading to numerous diseases and disorders.
An allergy is the body’s response to a foreign substance it does not recognize. Now there is something foreign in our food (GMOS) that was not there just one generation ago. This is causing our bodies to send off an immune response to fight these GMOs that our body views as a toxin causing disease within us.
GMOs thin our gut lining which allows these toxins to enter directly into our blood. According to the Center of Disease Control, there has been a 265% increase in the hospitalization rates from allergic reactions since the invention of GMOs.
3. Their have been no studies conducted proving GMOs are safe for human consumption.
Hence why Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, France, Madeira, Switzerland, India, and Thailand have banned them! Despite the US spending more money on health care than any other country, our health is declining faster than ever before in history. We now have the highest rates of cancer in the entire world.
The truly scary part of GMOs is that they are slowly doing damage to our bodies- they more we eat them, the harder our bodies are being forced to work to keep healthy, and eventually will not be able to keep up the battle.
